You probably know these men — Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli — just not under the moniker of the Gutter twins. Dulli is known for his time in Twilight Singers and Afghan Whigs, and Lanegan made a name for himself in Screaming Trees in the early ’90s and more recently Queens of the Stone Age and Mad Season. But it was his collaboration with Soulsavers that really made me take notice.
The longtime collaborators join forces in Gutter Twins, producing an alt-rock dark mystical creation called Saturnalia (Sub Pop). The duo performs tonight at Noise Pop, headlining at Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco.
Camille Ikalina-Robles, a Venus Zine writer, is contributing venuszine.com "Staff Favorites" about her most anticipated NoisePop performances from February 27–March 2.
