Cable Ties
Why your should never leave home without these little strips of plastic.

Like many unrepentant former Girl Scouts, I carry many items in my wallet just in case. Bandages, safety pins, and — of course — cable ties. Over the years, the array of colors and lengths of cable ties available in hardware stores has grown increasingly diverse. My cache of ties has never serviced actual cable, but they've seen action as luggage locks, funky industrial-looking bracelets, and hair ties. Keep a few tucked in your wallet or purse and employ them in a pinch.
