Former Bratmobile frontwoman Allison Wolfe looks to the stars and examines her lifelong dedication to DIY

Allison Wolfe’s new band, Partyline, knows how to party politically. Its debut EP, Girls With Glasses(Retard Disco), packs a punch with six sassy anthems, including “Unsafe at Any Speed” and “No Romantic.” An astrological chart reading by the Astrotwins gives some insight into Wolfe’s penchant for punk.

Allison Wolfe was born the first of identical twins in Memphis, Tennessee, at 1:13 p.m. on November 9, 1969.
CHARACTER
AstroTwins: Allison has the chart of a fierce, global revolutionary wrapped in a glamorous, electrifying package. With her Sun and Moon both in Scorpio, she is intensely emotional, deeply intuitive, and never misses a detail. AW: Oh, you make me wanna cry! That’s so sweet! If only I felt I could quit my day jobs for good! I am indeed totally underappreciated in the workforce! Someone, please tell my boss and whoever dispenses fame, fortune, and all that fancy stuff! I was recently called a “rock star” for asking why Partyline was paid zero dollars after playing a show. Does that count toward my international superstardom?

AstroTwins: With her karmic path, or North Node, in healing Pisces, in the house of self, Wolfe is destined to be a solo star or leader. AW: Omigod! You’re totally right. I’m sick of all this dish-washing and butt-wiping. I’m over it. I’ve been sacrificing myself to “the scene,” “DIY,” or whatever and whoever for far too long. I guess I’m afraid of being an asshole because assertive girls get a lot more shit for that. I’m also an identical twin, so it’s weird for me to go things totally alone. I don’t get that only-child attitude.
STRENGTHS

AstroTwins: Wolfe may get deep flashes of genius or insight in her sleep and could occasionally suffer either nightmares or insomnia. She also has a natural talent with the occult and mysticism. However, she may have to first overcome deeply held skepticism before she allows herself to express it.
AW: So I have this recurring dream that I’m on vacation, and I totally forget to get on the plane to go home. I’m lazy by day but get anxious at night. I often suffer from insomnia, but I’m learning to embrace naps and sleeping in. I used to have ghost experiences and constant premonitions, but it all stopped after my mother died. It’s hard not to feel skeptical after a crushing blow like that. I mean, why believe in anything anymore?
