This top is a variation of the “Lydia” shirt pattern (number 3197) from burdastyle.com. Originally a long-sleeve design, the pattern was customized by removing the sleeves and adding decorative buttons on the shoulder seam.

Crafty chicks have operated outside the mainstream for years: swapping and modifying commercial patterns, selling our creations on indie Web sites, and proudly posting pics of our stuff for forum friends. But most sites catering to the crafting crowd offer a couple of dinky patterns for things you’d never wear and articles that don’t even speak your lingo.
Enter burdastyle.com, an open-source sewing site where the Euro-chic pattern company blends the best of social media and the customizing trend. The site offers free patterns you’d actually wear for download and tweaking, a community where members can post their finished products, and how-to videos and tutorials. They even encourage members to sell their wares by uploading their etsy.com pages, so you can be creative and make money. Burdastyle.com takes the sting out of sticking it to the man, and we don’t mind a stitch.
