America's Test Kitchen is a meta cooking show on PBS. The cast is also the editorial staff of Cook's Illustrated magazine, best known for its beautiful hand-drawn illustrations and total lack of advertising. The show's cast of chefs, led by the editor-in-chief (and totally charming) Chris Kimball, tests recipes dozens of times with all possible permutations of ingredients and methods before deciding on the best possible technique.
