Arianna Stern loves Fafi for MAC

One-half of me resents the advertising that sustains the cosmetics industry, because it tends to exploit women's insecurities about how they look and then attempt to assuage those insecurities with mountains of expensive products. The other half of me sees the products themselves and is like, “OMG. Pretty colors!”
Reflecting the latter attitude, French graffiti artist Fafi has released a make-up line in collaboration with MAC. Its iridescent, rosy pinks and plums reflect the playfulness of her illustrations, which appear on the packaging. The Web site, macfafi.com, features an adorable video interview with Fafi that kind of makes me want to be her best friend.
