With
spring around the corner, the time has come for ritual cleaning, bare
arms, and twee-charged playlists equipped to crush any leftover
remnants of the winter blues. So if you’re looking to make your own
soundtrack soon, might I suggest the indie-pop sensibilities of Eux
Autres? Their songs are laden with handclaps, countdowns, jangly guitar
hooks, and mimic French garage-pop songs of the ‘70s at times. Siblings
Heather Larimer (drums) and Nicholas
Larimer (guitar) share sing-song vocals and like to periodically trade
English verse for French so effortlessly, you’d never guess that they
hail originally from Omaha, Nebraska. I recommend the track “The Things
They Carried,” off their first full-length album Hell Is Eux
Autres.
