If you haven't checked in with the Sunday night PBS series recently, you might be in for a surprise—Masterpiece Theatre has gotten quite a bit more racy. From the naughty antics of Casanova (wherein Doctor Who hottie David Tennant romanced a cross-dressing castrato and had a threesome with two nuns, among other things), to the choice of Alan Cumming as host of this summer's "Masterpiece Mystery" season, the sex appeal has shot through the roof. And for a bit more family friendly fare, check out another gorgeous Doctor Who alum, Billie Piper, as she plays a feminist role model in Victorian times in Philip Pullman's The Shadow in the North, this September.
Alexandra Edwards is a Venus Zine writer.

I love Doctor Who! Now if only they would show it on PBS instead of the Sci Fi channel... I actually have not been watching Masterpiece Theatre much lately, as I was one of those purists who yelled at the screen for most of the Jane Austen season. Maybe I should still check out their summer mystery season though.
