Siera Cerny Loves the Amika Heat Proof Styler Holder

I love my Amika Heat Proof Styler Holder. When I received it as a gift from my sister, I was like, "What is this?" When she told me it was a holder for my flat iron, I was like, "That's weird."

However, upon inspection of my bedroom floor, I noticed numerous burned spots on the carpet in the unmistakable V-shape of my Chi flat iron. Note to self: Flat irons are for the hair on your head, not the fibers of your carpet.

It doesn't take me more than 10 or 15 minutes to achieve my desired hairstyle, whether it's a sleek and straight 'do or that teased, messy, just-got-out-of-bed-but-not-really look that sometimes happens by accident. But even though I only use it for a short while, I've unintentionally left my Chi on for up to twelve hours ... sometimes more.

It has yet to scorch anything other than the carpet (and sometimes the side of my face or a finger), but why risk it? I decided to give the Style Holder a chance.

I'm not suggesting anyone do this, but last week I left my flat iron on for almost two days. When I realized it, I lunged to my makeup station to correct my terrible mistake. Luckily, it was tucked into the Style Holder, which was barely even warm, and shielded from everything surrounding it (the carpet, a hair brush, plastic makeup cases, my entire bedroom).

The Amika Heat Proof Style Holder is a lightweight and portable gem that not only keeps things tidy, but also prevents people like me from starting house fires. Thanks to this product (and my sister, of course) the world is a safer place.

I definitely need this in my bathroom. I'm always leaving my straightener on top of the sink where my nephews burn their fingers on it not realizing it is still hot. Do you also make any natural hair care products?
