Jordan Young Loves Current TV

Different from any other channel on television, Current TV features a true variety of programs. Whether you want to laugh, be entertained, or learn something, this cable station (now available via Comcast, DirecTV, DISH Newtwork, Time Warner, and more) offers a little bit of everything and something for everyone. I absolutely love the sarcastic and smart sense of humor on shows like Rotten Tomatoes and infoMania. Both shows take on current films and TV shows, pinpoint their most ridiculous aspects, and generate satire accordingly. A recent sketch had them staging a music intervention with Ke$ha—analyzing her claims of being a rebellious anti-pop star with empowering lyrics for women. Let’s just say it was genius.

If you are looking for something more serious, there are also shows like Vanguard—an eye-opening documentary series that examines events taking place across the world and even sometimes in your own neighborhood. Recent episodes include a look at OxyContin in America and Uganda’s attempt to pass an anti-homosexual law and rape on Native American reservations. There should be more journalism like this on television, as it brings to light the ripple effect that a global economy creates.

No matter what your interests, Current TV will leave you intrigued. There really is nothing else like it on television.
