Zap Mama
ReCreation (Heads Up)

International chanteuse Marie Daulne, frontwoman of Zap Mama, combines French-African heritage, an amazing vocal range, and a Who’s Who cast of underground soul collaborators for the journey on the group's latest disc, ReCreation.
The 13 tracks are made up of reggaeton, afrobeat down-tempo, and a slight twinge of hip-hop. Whether bringing the electro-reggae and lyrically positive vibe of "Vibrations" or teaming up with vocalist Bilal on "The Way You Are," a slow samba-vibe love song, Zap Mama isn’t afraid to stretch, and versatility shows all over this record. "Harlem" is a track that goes almost straight hip-hop — turntables, deep grooves, and all. "Non, Non, Non," featuring Vincent Cassel, is hands-down the sexiest track on the album.
Overall, Zap Mama brings an international vibe on ReCreation, making it excellent late-night date or late-night lounge fodder.
