Venuszine.com — the Web component of the internationally circulated magazine that focuses on women in music, film, fashion, art, and DIY culture — seeks concert writers and photographers for assignments in major cities around the country. This is an unpaid, freelance position for indie-rock enthusiasts who have experience or are up to the challenge of penning a piece or snapping some shots at venues with a quick turnaround.
Applications will be accepted for any major city with access to national touring artists, but we are especially looking for contributors in the following cities:
Writers in Albany, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Philly, Portland, Seattle, Washington D.C.
Photographers in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C.
The ideal candidate has already started thinking about their summer/fall show schedule and is responsible enough to regularly communicate and work with an editor, primarily via e-mail.
Writers and photographers (sorry, only photographers who shoot digital will be considered) will have 24-48 hours from the end of the show to submit their story or photos. The editor will provide edits and feedback within one day, and the final version of the story will need to be back to the editor within another day to be posted on our site.
