For thirteen years, Erykah Badu has been creating eccentric R&B, hip hop, and jazz–inspired music that has led to comparisons to Billie Holiday and being dubbed the “First Lady of Neo-Soul.” In her spare time, Badu also dabbles in acting, having starred in films such as The Cider House Rules, House of D, and the documentary Before the Music Dies. She's even played muse to Tom Ford as the face of his 2008 White Patchouli fragrance. This year looks to be another big one for Ms. Badu as her fifth studio album, NewAmerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) on Universal Motown, drops in March.
