I'm trying to bundle up some anarchist activists from Columbia, MO that I think would be perfect for the feature. If they're willing to do it, these women have some great points to make about health care and environmental policy.

No matter what the issue, I just want a candidate that will deal with the truth about each situation. I'm so sick of politicians giving the public what they want to hear rather than what will actually fix a situation like the blanket stimulus package tax cuts. Sure, getting $400 in the mail is great but that's not going to help people save their homes. I’ve talked to a couple people about it and they all just put the check into their savings account so it’s not even going into the economy. Plus, all that money going out is just leaving the government more unable to put money in programs that actually target and resolve problems.

To Jennyan ....and why should responsible people have to bail out the irresponsible people who took on a mortgage that was too big for them!? Why should I have to pay more taxes to bail out my neighbor who made poor financial decisions and overspent his money while I saved and scrimped? Why should the GOVERNMENT step into your life so much? Why do people feel a sense of ENTITLEMENT in the usa? It is not a RIGHT to have free healthcare, low mortgages, lots of credit, low gas and food prices!!! Americans sound like a bunch of spoiled children who do not want to WORK for anything? GOVERNMENT programs are ABUSED too often and serve as enablers for people's poor lifestyle choices! Everyone thinks the word "change" is going to some how magically bring down the price of gas, food and mortgage payments! I honestly believe many people think that the gov't just prints money and that's how the economy works!? ugh! ....I guess you can all see how frustrated I am! ha!

Non partisan Voter registration, education and mobilization is key to electing officials that are accountable to the needs and priorities of our community. I am a civic enagement organizer that works within the Get Out the Vote Lake Co. Coaliton 2008 to increase voter tunout for women, communities of color, and those individuals 18-35. My work is so rewarding because I register and recruit community members to do site based and canvassing registrations while simultaneosly building a sustainable movement. Not only are we concerned about the increasing voter turnout but, about how we can keep citizens engaged after the election. VOTE. Know the issues. Know the candidates. Get registered. Make a difference.
